What do people who bought this course have to say about it?
Absolutely insane... I knew there were all these features of Serum that I didn't really know about and was kind of avoiding, but I never knew how important they were in creating great sounds. I used to slap on tons of plugins after serum just to try and get the sound to where I wanted it to go, but in all honesty I didn't even really know what it was doing to my sound. After this course I don't have to do that anymore. Serum is SO much more powerful than most people understand! I now make sounds that are 1000% better and I actually know what I'm doing. I rarely have to do anything outside of serum anymore in terms of sound design. I really feel like a pro
Jay
Blacknall (Dj/producer)
Jesse is such a thorough teacher, and that alone makes the course worth it so much over any other option out there. Most paid courses still just tell you what to do but don't go deep on the "why" and the principles behind the sound design. Jesse goes ALL the way, and really spends extra time making sure that you understand why you need to take certain steps to make a patch sound a certain way.
Thijs
DJ Tizzy (DNB/House Producer)
The amount of seriously good video's in this course is crazy. When I heard about this course on HowtoDNB's youtube channel I got kind of annoyed because many creators are trying to "teach" nowadays and it's always disappointing, because good musicians are usually not great teachers. But Jesse is different. He really leaves no stone unturned and has made me understand topics that I didn't even knew existed but now I use them in almost all of my productions. 10/10 recommend this to any starting/intermediate producer

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes it is! This course is made for people who are serious about becoming better at synthesizing sounds for the Drum & Bass Genre, regardless of your level. Since the course is divided into two main parts where you will learn everything about SERUM from most elemental beginners level first, it makes it super easy for total beginners to follow along.
Even as a beginner you will see that even things that seem complex are actually quite easy and logical once you've seen how it works and understand the reasoning behind why we do certain things.
Not just that, but the course is structured in such a way that the various concepts, buttons, knobs, methods and techniques of "Serum Mastery" are all linked to videos in "Sound of DNB" that actually employ those techniques. This way, you get a lot more context to the otherwise sometimes "dry" material about synthesis. This is unique to this course and is found in no other dnb course on the internet!
Also, Jesse, the course instructor, is often praised for his ability to break complex topics down into easily digestible bits of information.
Absolutely! Even though you will likely already know the basics, there is a level of depth to Serum and also to synthesizing the sounds in "Sounds of DNB" that many producers that have been producing for multiple years will still have never heard of. The course is structured so that total beginners can follow along easily but also goes extremely in-depth on techniques and methods that approximately 90% of producers aren't even aware of.
If you're still doubting whether the course is deep enough for you, then consider this: We are so sure that this course will make you a better producer and teach you new things that we offer a 30 day money-back guarantee.
After you sign up you will get an e-mail with all the login details to our platform. On this platform is where you will find all the content that you've purchased. Here you can manage your account, watch all of the video's, find the bonus content and contact us in case you need any help. You will also be able to comment on video's here in case you have questions or if things are unclear.
In this course everything is taught in the popular synthesizer Xfer Serum. The underlying DAW that we use is Ableton Live Suite 11.
Absolutely! The DAW that you are using does not matter. Although we do use Ableton to input notes into the midi player and such things, you will be able to do this in any other DAW including FL Studio, Logic, Cubase, Bitwig and many more.
In "Sounds of DNB" there are a very small number (maybe 1%) of sounds that will employ one or more Ableton stock plugins to complement serum, but virtually any DAW will have their own version of these.
This is a good question, and one worth contemplating before you buy this course. The entire course takes place in Serum, so not using Serum will definitely make this a different experience for you.
Despite that, many synthesizers operate very similar to Serum. Vital for example is almost identical to serum in many of it's features. This course is not just about the software Serum, but also very much about the way sound synthesis works and techniques for using oscillators, LFO's, envelope's, FX , etc to create specific sounds.
You will still likely learn A LOT of things you didn't know before and these principles can certainly be carried over into any other synthesizer that has similar functionalities.
For any other questions, feel free to send us a message at howtodnb@gmail.com and we'll get back to you shortly!
